THE TRUTH ABOUT FORECLOSURES IN OUR AREA

While there are parts of America that are suffering, the Hattiesburg Area Market is very fortunate.   As of July 13, 2008, there are 1169 active listings and of those there are 39 foreclosures. That means 3% of the homes listed for sale in the area are foreclosures. 4 are in the city, 6 in Oak Grove, 1 Sumrall, 3 in Petal, 3 in Purvis and the rest in outlying areas like Columbia, Lumberton, Monticello, and Magee.  While not all listings are flagged as foreclosures in our MLS and some don't make it to the MLS before they are sold and closed, this is still a good picture of the shortage of foreclosures we have in the area.
